Who pays us, for what, and what money cannot buy.

SwapEazi measures payment routes across banks, payment providers and stablecoin markets. A measurement is only worth anything if no one it measures can pay to change it. This page sets out who pays us, for what, and the rules that hold whoever pays.

Who pays us

The businesses that use it. Never the providers it measures.

Customers
SwapEazi is paid by the businesses that use it, at a flat price per corridor or per month (pricing). The price does not depend on the size of the payment or the route chosen, so no route earns us more than another. Assessing a payment is free.
Banks and providers
Do not pay us. No bank, payment provider, exchange, pool or token issuer pays SwapEazi to be listed, measured or ranked, so the route we show you first is there because it suits your payment, not because it pays us.
No introductions
SwapEazi does not introduce businesses to providers and collects no contact details to do so. After you choose a route, you go to the provider's own page and sign in or open an account there.
What we never take
No share of payment volume, no FX spread, no custody of funds, no fee for executing a payment. SwapEazi never moves, holds or sends money.
What money cannot buy

Rules that hold whoever pays.

The order of routes
Routes are ordered on the business's own policy (cost or speed), then the strength of the evidence. A test routes the same payment with and without partner flags and assesses that the order, the selected route and the highlights are identical (tests/leads.test.ts). No route is ranked.
A figure in the report or the index
The Africa Payment Cost Report and the USDC cost of size index show measured figures only: payments that landed and live market reads. No provider's published price, quote or estimate fills a cell; a cell with nothing measured says so.
A place in the index
The index reads the exchange books and on-chain pools on its listed sources that pass the same verifications on a real response, each named next to its figure. A source is listed because it can be read and verified, is left out with its reason when it fails, and cannot pay to be read or to be left out.
A shared landing rate
Shared landing rates come from anonymised payout outcomes that businesses chose to share. A figure is shown only on at least 20 payouts from 3 contributors, and is withheld, with the reason, when any one contributor supplied more than 50% of its payouts. No single business or provider can set it.
A measured outcome
Outcomes businesses record against a provider are shown the same way for every provider, partner or not. Paying does not remove or soften one.
Coming next

More you will be able to assess.

  • A public corrections log, listing every figure we changed after publishing it and why.
  • Frozen monthly editions of the report, so a past month can be read as it was published.
