Disclosures

What you should know before using the service.

Stated plainly rather than buried. If any of this is a problem for your business, it is better that you know now.

SwapEazi is a software platform, not a financial institution

SwapEazi provides the software businesses use to arrange and reconcile supplier payments. SwapEazi is not a bank, a payment institution, a money transmitter, an authorised dealer or a foreign exchange provider, and it does not take custody of customer funds. Your payment is collected by a partner licensed in your country and paid out by a partner licensed in South Africa, into accounts in their names. There is no pooled balance of customer money at SwapEazi, and no deposits, so no deposit protection scheme applies.

Regulated services are delivered through licensed partners

Regulated payment services relating to a payment, namely fund collection, foreign exchange and settlement, are delivered through licensed financial partners in the market where each step takes place, rather than by SwapEazi. Where a customer's own compliance process requires it, a partner's regulatory standing is made available on request.

Exchange rates and timing

The exchange rate and every cost are fixed on your quote for the hold window stated on it. If that window passes before you settle, the quote lapses and is reissued at the rate applying then, which may be better or worse than the one you were first shown. That difference is yours, so settle inside the window if the rate matters to you. Arrival estimates depend on the corridor and on South African banking hours, and are estimates rather than guarantees.

Business use only

The service is for payments between businesses, in respect of commercial invoices, funded from an account in the paying company's name. It is not available for personal transfers, and payments from personal or third-party accounts are declined.

Nothing here is advice

Nothing on this website is financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Exchange control and reporting obligations in your own country are yours, and you should take your own advice on them.

Intellectual property
