C-006 · 2026-10-15 · Route prices

Wrong: Route prices could show impossible results: a negative cost (EUR to USD at -3.28%) from a stale comparison quote, and a bank's indicative mid rate (Botswana, 0.01%) as if it were a dealing price.

Changed: Quotes older than 14 days and costs below -0.5% are excluded with their reason; a bank's published price under 0.10% is treated as a mid rate, not a price.

C-005 · 2026-10-17 · USDC cost of size index

Wrong: Before the day's official fixing (weekends, early UTC) every USDC market cell was blanked as "today's reference is missing", although the cost of size needs no reference.

Changed: The cost of size is shown on those days; only the gap to the fixing waits for the reference.

C-004 · 2026-10-16 · Africa Payment Cost Report

Wrong: Some figures were measured against a reference rate that was days old, so part of what they showed was market movement, not cost.

Changed: No figure is shown against a stale reference; each figure states its observation date and what it was measured against, and market movement is shown apart from cost.

C-003 · 2026-10-16 · A public post

Wrong: A reply on X quoted two estimated costs (0.48% and 0.58%) as if they were measured.

Changed: Corrected in public the same day. Since then a number in a public post is measured or published, never estimated.

C-002 · 2026-10-16 · Africa Payment Cost Report

Wrong: Estimated costs were shown as single figures next to measured ones.

Changed: Estimates were first shown as ranges, then removed: the report shows measured figures only (payments that landed and live market reads); a cell without one reads "Being measured".

C-001 · 2026-10-16 · Africa Payment Cost Report

Wrong: The first edition put FX platforms in a column labelled "bank", and it did not say which legs of a payment a figure left out (a bank figure ran account to account; a stablecoin figure started from USDC already held and stopped at the conversion).

Changed: The column reads "Bank or FX platform" and each provider's class comes from a register or its own documentation; every figure states what it covers and which legs are unknown. The first edition was not frozen, so its figures are not reconstructed; this edition is 2026-10-v2.
